No More Blogging

Since I was kicked off of Adsense, I am not motivated to update this blog anymore. No, I can not tell you why they kicked me off because I do not know. Plus, it takes too much time even though I only updated this blog once or twice a week. Continue to keep up with the Welch's at http://welchfamilyhouston.blogspot.com/.

A Night of Hope

Gram and I went to Joel Osteen's Night of Hope show last night at the Mellon Arena. We had a fantastic time. It was nice to experience Joel live. His messages are very inspirational and from the heart. The music was phenomenal (you do not see this part of the service on his television show). It was like going to see a rock concert and he was the rock star.

This is my Bible: I am what it says I am; I have what it says I have; I can do what it says I can do. Today, I will be taught the Word of God. I'll boldly confess. My mind is alert; my heart is receptive; I will never be the same. I am about to receive the incorruptible, indestructible, ever-living Seed of the Word of God. I'll never be the same - never, never, never! I'll never be the same, in Jesus' Name.

Yes, I missed the Pitt game to go to this event. The guys at work said I missed a great game. Oh well. God was more important to me last night.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2008 Class

Or should I refer to it as the Pop and Roll Hall of Fame 2008 Class. The two notable inductees this year are Madonna and John Mellancamp sans Cougar. I would actually watch the live telecast if Madonna was performing. An inductee that is not dead or in rehab that will be in attendance will not perform. What a shame and slap in the face to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! I feel she is a very influential artist and is a fantastic entertainer. I think this move lacks class (no pun intended) on her part. She was the highlight of this year's class and is a pop pioneer. Maybe the Kabbalah juice has gotten to her head.
Anyways, enjoy the performance of Man on the Moon by 2007 Class Inductee, R.E.M and presenter Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam (Class of 2016? A band or performer is eligible 25 years after the release of their first record). R.E.M. exploded onto the music scene via the college airways. If it were not for them, we probably would not be listening to music by Phish, Dave Matthews Band, Bare Naked Ladies, and many others. It was a nice sight to see Bill Berry back again on drums after leaving the band due to health issues.

Jack Welch Vacation Pics

My dad took his first journey away from this continent in his 54 year life. I envy him. I have only been as far west as Indiana and as far south as Tennessee. He and my Uncle Reed vacationed to Singapore and Thailand.
We watched the news every night to hear reports of a Hickory, PA man being caned for not following proper etiquette in Singapore and the punishment resulting in a caning. Remember Michael Fay?

Included are some pics from his trip. To see more of his travels, visit http://www.jack-welch.blogspot.com/.

Milkshakes

Eddie and I went to see There Will Be Blood a few weeks back. One of the lines by Daniel Plainview (The performance by Daniel Day-Lewis was one of the very best I ever witnessed) from the film has become very popular.

I drink your milkshake! I drink it up!

Saturday Night Live did a great job in spoofing the final scene from the movie.

Pitt beats Orange

I still can not get used to calling the Syracuse Orangemen the Syracuse Orange. Anyways, Pitt spoiled the Orangemen's lead in the final minutes and got Coach Boeheim T'd up. This win was a huge road win and assured the Panthers of a .500 or better Big East Conference record. I feel this locked up their NCAA bid.
